Well, here you have it, the posts about our trip to Boston. My hope is that I can get them all in before I go back to school. Ammon is still working on our trip from last year, so he gave me the job of blogging Boston.
In this post are the first two days only. There are so many pictures and videos that this will take many posts.
July 2nd: Fly from Phoenix to Milwaukee where we had a small layover and ate at Jonny Rocket's in the airport.

From there we flew into the Logan airport. Got our bags. Found silver line bus to South Station. Found Commuter rail line to hotel; bought tickets. We ended up having quite a wait for our train, so we played cards in the train terminal and snacked on yummy food (I got a soft pretzel from a vendor with cinnamon and sugar on it...I was in heaven!). We got off the train and hiked about a quarter of a mile to our hotel. It's a good thing I Googled our hotel so I knew what it would like. I recognized the pyramid style glass roof over the entrance and we headed toward it like a beacon in the night to lost sailors (which, I might add, we really did feel a little lost on the dark on sidewalk-less streets). We got to the hotel and checked in and slept! Yeah!
July 3rd: We met up with Alene, Larry, Adrianne, Mike, and the boys!

Above: Uncle Ammon being just as enthralled with the train ride as the little boys!
Below: Such a ham!! Oliver said "Whoa!" most of the train ride. Reminded me of Joey from the TV show Blossom from when we were all young!

Above: I just loved the look of the city! There were old buildings tucked between modern ones.
Below: Milk Street? In a town full of history this caught my attention. Is there a story behond the name or did the city planner name the street while eating breakfast?

Above: Here we all are on our LONG self guided tour of the not popular streets of Boston. Ammon was quick to take control of one of the kids...Oliver this time. I think he's ready to be a Dad...anyone else agree?
Below: An example of the small building being right in the middle of the all the big ones. I later found out (the next day during our Freedom Trial tour) that this is the Old South Meeting House (church)

The next four pictures are of us touring the USS Constitution, which is the oldest ship in the US to still have an active crew.

The next picture is of the USS Cassin Young, which Mike, Jacob and Parley explored while the rest of us took a break in the shade.

The next picture was taken while walking back over the Charles River on the Charlestown Bridge. Jelly fish! Or in the words of Dora from Finding Nemo "My Squishy".

Below: After a long day of walking, we bought subway passes and worked on figuring out the underground maze and how it fits with the surface streets and places we wanted to go. Olive slept while we two or three teamed the stroller to get it up and down stairs.

Tired Adrianne!

Below: Just kidding: I'm awake! Why would I ever sleep through watching trains come an go? So interesting!

Back at the hotel: Oliver had a bath and was so happy! He loves his mommy!

Above: Happy early birthday to Parley! Aunt Alene bought him cupcakes and she put a single candle in 5 of them and he blew them out! It took 3 tries to blow out only 5 candles...something Parley will need to work on over the next few years!
Ammon and I then went down to the spa with Alene and Larry. It was good to relax a bit. When we got back to the hotel room we were sharing with Aunt Kaye, Parley was already asleep on the extra chair and ottoman. He came to spend the night with us too. I know packing up the boys in the morning was way easier with one less underfoot!
More posts to come as I get them done!
These pics are great-- so fun to see you having fun with Ammon's family!
