My Time as an Illegal Alien

My father-in-law owns a boat. For a family outing, he came up with the idea of being in a boat parade on Canyon Lake. The day drew close with much anticipation! Ammon wasn't feeling well, but we decided to go anyway! We dressed in many layers, brought many blankets, and heated up water for hot cocoa. We kept the water hot in a thermos we received as a wedding gift...one of the best gifts! We even decided we want another one! It's that handy! Alene and TJ bought chicken at KFC and we kept it warm in a soft cooler with heating pads on the inside...another great idea!! We were cold enough that the chicken was GRATEFULLY eaten warm instead of cold.

We got up to the lake with enough time to decorate the boat with Ammon's lights and a Santa from Amy and Alan. Alene and TJ are great helpers! Once we were done decorating the sun had started to set and we launched the boat. The wind had come up and we were glad we planned for cold weather. We took a quick tour around the lake and found most of the boats that were going to be in the parade in the marina. So we waited by eating chicken and having hot cocoa. Then we followed the marina Dolly boat around a small portion of the lake 3 times. There were about 9 different boats with fun light displays! It was great!

As we came by one of the docks, the people watching the parade asked for our number. We did not have a number, we did not register. At the next doc, we explained our lack of registering and they said. "Call the boarder patrol, we got some illegal aliens!!" What fun! I got to be an illegal alien for while...

Here's some pics from the night!
