Summer...I thought you'd never come!!

I'm so glad to be done with this school year! I am now taking a summer school course through ASU (Calculus 1) and am loving it! I get out of house for a few hours on Tuesdays, Weds, Thurs during the hottest part of the day in our house: the early evening! Our house heats up and heats up and we don't turn the air on until after 8pm (darn those summer peak electric hours).  It's also nice to be taking Calculus after 9 years of teaching Algebra.  The algebra skills needed to do well in calc were where I was weak the last time I took calc ( Fall 2000), so I'm pretty sure I'm going to do much better this time around!

My instructor is a grad student from the country of Jordan and he speaks with a cute accent and is pretty easy to understand.  He truly wants others to love the math just as much as he does.  He even taught me a new math joke! It's one you have to draw, so I will have to show it to you the next time we get together.  I secretly laughed inside for about 5 minutes after he showed it to us. It was great!

Other things for this summer: new floor in the baby's room, a visit to my family in Cali during the first part of July and being in a pool as much as possible.  Since I don't have a pool at my house, I'm counting on others to offer their pool...hint, hint, hint.  I even got a maternity swim suit, so I'm ready to go!
