More Fun Family Time

Maggie and Alyse drove down to Morgan Hill on Friday morning.  We went to Super Taqueria for lunch (the big yum) and in the afternoon Alyse tried out the new pool and water table for the fist time! She needed a bit of instruction from Mom and Grandma, but she eventually got the hang of it and had a wonderful time!

On Saturday we went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium and watched Alyse enjoy the otters, penguins, petting area, children's play place, jelly fish, and sea horses.  We got some food and had a picnic at Dennis the Menace Park.  Alyse thoroughly enjoyed the slide and the swing!
Above: Grandma and Alyse in the back of the van getting ready to go to Monterey! Alyse's pig tails did not last very long on this trip, but they did on Sunday! Isn't she the cutest? 4 more months, Alyse, then you will be 2nd cutest!
Below: Watching the otters feed!
Below: Peek-a-boo!! One of Alyse's favorite games!

Above: The Finding Nemo tank! Well, that's what I call it at least! Dori is in the middle and Nemo/Marlin is in the bottom and there's the striped fish towards the right, but I don't remember his name...anyone?
Below: Alyse found water to play with! She was happy until she had to share with another little girl.

Brandon came down to MoHill after work on Saturday and we had a nice visit with him on through Sunday.  We all we went to church together Sunday morning and had fun watching Alyse use the touch screen on my mom's phone.  Brandon took Alyse to nursery, Dad and Maggie went to Sunday School and I talked with ladies in the chapel! I did eventually get to Sunday School, but I was late! I had to catch up with all the ladies that have known me for ever! It was great!

After church we had some down time (nap time for Alyse) and then Grandma Lois and Grandpa Woody and Aunt Nancy and Uncle Marciel came over for dinner! We had Tri-Tip (thanks, Dad) and corn on the cob and many yummy salads(thanks, Mom)! Brandon and Maggie left first to get home before Alyse's bed-time, then Nancy and Marciel left and took my dad to the airport then grandpa and grandma left as well.

Speeking of my dad, some of you may not know this, but my dad retired from IBM after 34 years there.  He decided that while retirement is nice, having work to fill his time would be even better.  So he spent a few months working on interviews, making connections with people and making a good impression.  He has started, this week, his new job at STEC.  He still selling storage to other companies, but this company is much smaller than IBM and I think he is going to enjoy it quite a bit! Of course, having retirement benefits and a paycheck doesn't hurt either!
