I'm also very humbled by the already huge outpouring of love from so many people. We have received so many gifts already and I am truly grateful for your generous sharing of your talents. We love all the gifts we have gotten so far and know that preparing for our little one wouldn't be possible without so many generous people!
Speaking of generosity, we had a few people in our ward bring their tools over to our house and help us lay the flooring for the baby's room. We could not have done it without them! They took a project that would have taken us many days or weeks and turned it into a single day project!
Also, this week is Spirit Week at work. Last week I asked my 7th hour if there was a Super Hero that was pregnant; since today's theme is Super Heroes. We talked about it a bit and came up with "super Mom" as my super hero. I used electrical tape to recreate the Superman crest on my belly instead of my chest where Superman has his. I used a baby blanket and safety pin for my cape. I found an elastic belt and attached baby stuff to it as my utility belt. The baby wipes did not want to stay put, so they stayed out most of the day, but the toy monkey, pacifier, bib, diaper and bottle completed the outfit! It was a hit! I had people purposefully coming to my room to see me all dressed up! Too funny!
On a disturbing note, I had to kill a scorpion at work this morning. He was hanging out on the floor by my desk when I got to my room and I knew spraying him wouldn't do any good; nor would my soft soled shoe. I took the stapler of my desk, held it backwards, and hit the sucker with all my might. He sliced in half but continued to wiggle, so I sliced him again and he stopped moving! Whew! When I told the office that I dealt with a scorpion, they mentioned that my room was not the only room with them and that other people have had them falling out of the ceiling onto their desks! Gross! I've working at the same school for 8 years and even this same room for 3 of those years, and have never seen a scorpion! Not fun! Plus, what if I got stung? How would that affect my little one? I'm not a happy camper!
Here's a picture of me in the Super Hero get up with a good picture of the baby bump at 34 weeks. I guess it's not really a "bump" anymore. What should I call it? A baby watermelon? Beach ball? Speaking of beach balls, Thursday is Beach day for spirit week...maybe I could incorporate that some how...we'll see!
