Vermont Trip: Episode #1

I went to Vermont on June 18th and left on July 7th. With almost 3 weeks worth of pictures, I'm not going to do a separate post for each day. We all know how well that worked for our Yellowstone trip. Of course, that is because Ammon was doing the blogging, not me. Anywho, I feel like the trip can be summed up in 4 or 5 long posts, so here's #1.

The first day I saw the boys was Sunday June 19th, which also was Father's Day, my Dad's birthday and Mikaela's birthday. It's a really important day! Here's the boys waiting for Mike to come back from early meetings to take us all to church.

I went to church in Vermont 3 times. The first day Adrianne had the "day off" from Primary, so we went to Gospel Doctrine class where I almost fell asleep. Thankfully, Adrianne's tummy started moving and that kept me entertained for the duration of the lesson. In Relief Society we had a lesson on our talents. The teacher was good and brought a variety of teaching strategies into her lesson. I was a little shocked with one particular sister who flat out told the teacher "I'm not going to play your game" meaning I will not say the words you want me to say so that you can prove your point. I was taken aback, seeing as she is a seminary teacher and understands what it is like to teach difficult students. I'm exactly the opposite. When a teacher is up there trying to make a point, I try to help in any way. Needless to say, it was an interesting Sunday! The next Sunday I spent in Primary with Adrianne. I led the music and she played the piano. It was fun to work together! The next Sunday I was without Adrianne (she had the baby) and I figured Primary would be short handed, so I went to Primary and played the piano. Man! I need to practice the Piano! But it was fun to be of service!

The boys do A LOT of reading, which is great, because I love it too! I would read Oliver a "booky" or one of the older boys would read to him, or they would read to each other. It was fun to see them learning and growing!

We went on a walk around the "close pond" and we found turtle shells. Cool!

I also got see a real-life pond covered in lily pads with big flowers. There were even more on a different part of the pond, but I did not bring my camera that day! Sad!

Monday we went to pick strawberries. This is about half of what we picked. They were so good! Eventually, we made strawberry jam. We also tried strawberry ice cream, but the ice cream attachment for Adrianne's mixer was not working. Bummer!

Below: The Boys with their Loot! They are standing in age order: Jacob is 7, Parley is 6 and Oliver is 2 and a half (he'll be 3 in November).Tuesday morning I took the boys for a walk around the close pond by myself. We had fun exploring and getting into things!

Parley gave me a flower which I stuck in my pony tail and Oliver did the best he could to mimick the style! So cute!
These boys can be really cute! These next few pictures are proof!
Three boys...three rocks...it makes a great photo op!

Parley wanted to take pictures and video, so he took a picture of the "tractor" which is the water pump for the pond and these two videos. Enjoy!

Tuesday night I got sick (really sick; if you know about Ammon and I getting sick on our Yellowstone trip, then this is the same). I did not get a ton of pictures of this part of the trip. We went to the Larson's for a BBQ on Tuesday before I "got sick" and could only eat half a hamburger! I was so sad! Everything looked so good and I wanted to try it all! Plus, this was my first time meeting the Larson's and they did not get a fair representation of the real me!

Mike decided to do a trial run of the birthing tub with just cold water to see how long it would take. Answer: an hour. Here's the one picture I have of the trial run!
Adrianne and I decided to play with nature. It had been raining and looked like it could rain again, but we took the boys to the track at the high school anyway. We bundled up (it was cold) and headed to the track! Aren't they cute? It did start raining just as we were getting home. No big deal!

Wow! That was a long post! Next installment: The Gate, Fishing, More Walks, and Baby Lizzie!
