Auctioning our house...

Hey there family,

We just wanted to tell you about a rather heart stopping experience that we had today. We went over to the house, that we are in contract with the bank on, to do some work in order to insure that there would be no issues when the appraiser comes by. When we arrived we saw a sign in the yard advertising house for auction. We thought, that is weird, someone is using our yard to advertise with one of those cardboard signs. Then we came around the front of the house and there was another sign, and a HUGE one taped to the storage room wall, and one in the master bedroom window.

We were thinking, "What the heck, I thought we had a deal! Are they selling our house out from under us?!" Anyway, we called our realtor, Karen is fabulous, and had her make a few phone calls. After an hour and a half we still had not found anything out, so we came home and did some homework ourselves on the auction web site. We called the auction company and told them that the house was in contact so there would be no open house in the coming two weekends.

We finally got a call from the bank's realtor and she said that she had already asked the auction company three times to take it off of the auction list, and that we do not need to worry about our house being auctioned. Good thing we took down all the signs before we left today. Anyway, we are good to go on the house and we are going to go back tomorrow to spray the weeds and clean out some glass shards from what was a second pane in the sliding glass door at one point, so that we have not weeds or issues with the appraiser.

The nice thing is the auction people mowed our weeds for us, and did a poor job of filling in the hole the previous dog had dug in the yard, so there is a little less work for us to do. If I remember to take pictures tomorrow, we will post one or two here so you can see what they did for us. Big scare, but all is well, all is well. (BIG SIGH)

See how nice they were to mow our weeds . . . .
