Today the gas was supposed to be turned on so the appraiser could come and do his inspection. The City of Mesa gas guy turned it on and found a leak in the pipe going to the house and said that our water heater is not up to code with the pipe leaving the water heater that leaks gas (not good). So they (our realtor and the selling realtor) thought, heck, just cut off the gas pipe and put in an electric water heater (problem solved). But then another problem arose! The current electric box with the breakers is so old that the contractor doesn't think it can handle an extra breaker for an electric water heater (the whole box would need to be replaced). So I think we're back to having someone fix the leaky pipe by digging up our front yard! Man, at this rate we're going to have everything fixed before we move in! (Ha!)
Anyway, so it's been an interesting day, to say the least. Ammon and I are going over there in a little bit to meet some fire safety guys who are supposed to tell us what we can do to keep our family safe in the event of a fire! It should be very interesting! We heard their presentation last night at a free dinner we were invited to at Famous Dave's BBQ. We were impressed with what we saw and are looking forward to hearing the prices (which I'm sure we won't be able to afford, but will probably end up saving up for).
