Day 9 - Staycation Saga - Rest and Window Shopping

Day 9 – Tuesday June 2, 2009 – Rest and Window Shopping.
Today was planned as one of our down days, and since it was raining all morning and most of the afternoon, that is exactly what it turned out to be. We just stayed inside with the blinds open and watched the weather go by. It was really nice to have a rainy day as we get so few of them in AZ. The best part about it here is that we are over 8000 feet and the clouds are sitting right on top of us. (AZ is about 1500 feet so the clouds are always really high in the sky)
Later in the afternoon we decided that we were going to go to town to do some window shopping. We mailed a couple of letters, stopped by the Bank, and then went window shopping. We probably spent about 2 or 3 hours looking in the different stores and making notes of the things that we liked so that as we continued through our park adventures we would know if we should buy things in the park or wait until we get back to town.
We had dinner at The Gusher and the pizza there was great! It was delicious, and afterward we went back down the street and spent another hour or so window shopping and bought Shari a nice shirt. Then we came home and hung out for a bit before going to bed.

This is what we saw on our way home:

This is just as we leave Montana and enter back into Idaho near sunset. Henry's Lake is in the background and we were staying in condo's on the opposite side of this beautiful valley.

If you lived in Flagstaff AZ you might see something like this, but since we are from the Valley of the Sun, it was awesome to see the clouds actually cover up the top of the mountain. In fact the movement of the clouds was so cool that we even shot a short video for your viewing pleasure.

This is what our evening looked like as we were driving home. How beautiful the rain is and how wonderful it can be to be rained on for more than 3 hours ever few months!
